King George’s Field Community and Sports Centre – Closure due to Coronavirus

The Committee of Management of the King George’s Field met during the week commencing 16 March 2020, via exchange of e-mails and, having taken cognisance of the latest government advice set out here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults it decided that, with regret, the building known as King George’s Field Community and Sports Centre was not to be used for any social or sporting gatherings until further notice and in any event not until further reviewed by the KGF Committee of Management.

The meeting noted that this decision would negatively impact a number of organised functions, including but not limited to the monthly quiz evenings, the May Day fete, a number of uses for yoga and pilates as well as a number of private parties as well as regular football events, darts evenings and regular Saturday evenings in the bar and expressed its great unhappiness at having to take this decision which under the circumstances was unavoidable.

The meeting agreed to further review the decision and the resolution during the week commencing 13 April 2020.
