King George’s Field

King George’s Community and Sports Centre

King George’s Community and Sports Centre was built in 2018 to serve the needs of the villages of Lower Heyford and Caulcott. It is a purpose-built community space comprising a spacious, wooden-floored hall (with tables and chairs available), an equipped kitchen, toilets and baby-changing facilities, and separate changing rooms for sports teams.

It is available for parties, meetings, social, sporting and community events with fewer than 40 guests (seated) or 60 guests (standing).

An hourly fee is charged for each booking to cover upkeep, with reduced rates for bookings made by residents of Lower Heyford and Caulcott, and for regular bookings. A refundable deposit is also required.

To enquire about booking the Community Centre, and find out what fee would apply to your event, please email us at with the following details:

    • your name and contact telephone number(s)
    • the date and time required
    • start time and duration
    • the type of event (community, commercial or private)
    • whether it is a ‘one-off’ or regular event
    • whether you are a resident of Lower Heyford and Caulcott, and if so what is your address
    • whether the event is being held on behalf of one of the following KGF trustee groups: the WI, Lower Heyford Sports and Social Club, Heyford Athletic Football Club, the Bowls Club, the PC or the PCC.
    • whether you wish the bar to be open (which will be staffed by members of the Social Club)

One of the organisers will then get in touch with you to discuss the hire and make all the arrangements with you.

If you do not have access to the internet please put the above information into an envelope and put it in the post box at the King George’s Community and Sports Centre.

Please note that bookings are not confirmed until the fee and deposit have been paid, and the Hire Agreement has been signed and returned.

The King George’s Field Committee of Management (KGF CoM) met, virtually, by e-mail, on 24 December 2020, following the announcement that Oxfordshire is to be put into Tier 4 arising from the increasing threat of Covid -19 and resolved that the King George’s Field Community and Sports Centre (KGF CSC) should remain closed with effect from 26 December 2020 until further government advice was received. The field itself will remain open for individual exercise, and for people to use with others within your household, support bubble, or with one person from another household.
