Update on SSEN works

The recent overnight powercut during Storm Darragh has probably left residents wondering when the substation that was installed on the KGF will become active and help prevent similar issues in the future.  The work in Lower Heyford has been completed (less some aesthetic imporvements) but it is linked to a larger project that also covers upgrades in Upper Heyford.  Work in Upper Heyford has yet to be completed and the Lower Heyford substation will be activated once this occurs.  We don't currently have a completion date but will update the Parish once known.

Independent members of the KGF CoM wanted

King George’s Field Committee of Management (KGF CoM) are seeking to appoint new independent members to represent the King George’s Field Community and Sports Centre from the coming year.  An independent member is one who is not part of one of the following organisations:

  • The Parish Council of Lower Heyford
    • Heyford Athletic Football Club
    • Lower Heyford Village Hall Fund
    • Lower Heyford Events Committee
    • Heyford Bowls Club
    • Heyford Church Parochial Church Council
    • Lower Heyford Sports and Social Club
    • The Womens' Institute

Independent members provide essential balance to ensure that the KGF is well managed, sustainable and accessible to the whole community.  To find out more about the KGF CoM, please visit this page on the Lower Heyford and Caulcott Website.  Anyone who is able to help is requested to contact the KGF Secretary, Philip Boxall at sec.kgf@gmail.com

We are looking to elect new Independent members at our AGM in November.

Parish Councillors Wanted

Do you enjoy living in our lovely villages?

Do you have 2 or 3 hours a month to share?

Would you like to contribute and support life in our villages?

Then come and join your council!

We are a small friendly group who meet one evening per month for 10 months of the year.

We are all volunteers and bring a range of experiences to the council. This past year we have shared involvement in topics including power infrastructure, speed limits and road surfaces, sewage, footpaths, gates, natural environment, local and regional planning

In our monthly meetings we may discuss cutting back vegetation and litter bins or we could be reporting back on the occasional meeting one of us has had with bodies such a Highways or Corpus Christi.

The items on our agenda are always varied. We like to work together as a team to share our views and activities whilst always being conscious of representing everyone in our community.
